NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF LID-DRIVEN CAVITY FLOW BY ISOGEOMETRIC ANALYSIS

چکیده

In this paper, we present numerical results obtained by an in-house incompressible fluid flow solver based on isogeometric analysis (IgA) for the standard benchmark problem simulation – lid-driven cavity flow. The steady Navier-Stokes equations are solved in their velocity-pressure formulation and consider only inf-sup stable pairs of B-spline discretization spaces. main aim paper is to compare from our IgA-based with a package finite element method respect degrees freedom stability solution. Further, effectiveness recently introduced rIgA studied.The authors dedicate Professor K. Kozel occasion his 80th birthday.

This paper presents the large-eddy simulation of the lid-driven cubic cavity flow by the spectral element method (SEM) using the dynamic model. Two spectral filtering techniques suitable for these simulations have been implemented. Numerical results for Reynolds number Re = 12000 are showing very good agreement with other experimental and DNS results found in the literature.
